Earth Day: A little Planting

Happy Earth Day! The sun is shining, the air is getting warmer, and everyone has happy smiles on their faces with the welcoming change in weather. For Earth Day, we decided to post something simple you can do with kids, in the city, in the country, or simply in your house. Funny enough, for this project, a book in the local library was the first inspiration:

Potatoes on Rooftops gives you a basic rundown of vegetable gardening in the city. You can request it at your local library, or buy it on Amazon.

Around the web and Pinterest, you can find great planting activities to do with kids: This one from SimpleKids is a simple egg carton and Pole beans. Visit their website for complete instructions.

There are so many ideas out there, you just have to do a little searching. With all of this inspiration, why not try it for ourselves, and teach a little one all about where vegetables grow.
